Your guide to the RCH

Infection control

  • Hospitals are full of sick patients and there is a high risk of infection for other patients, parents and visitors.  It's absolutely vital that everyone works hard to prevent the spread of germs.  The best way to do this is by washing your hands regularly and using the hand sanitizer gel provided throughout the hospital.  Please ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly before and after preparing or eating food, and attending to personal or patient hygiene.

The staff caring for your child can give you more information about infection control procedures, infectious diseases and preventing the spread of germs.
