The below links are for the two Pump Information Modules to complete.
This is the first step to preparing to start on an insulin pump at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH).
Before starting the module keep in mind your progress cannot be saved part way through, therefore this module needs to be completed in one sitting and ideally completed on a computer/tablet (not a phone).
Pump Information Learning Module 1
Pump Information Learning Module 2
At the end of each module, you create a PDF document with all of your answers, this document then needs to be saved and attached to the insulin pump checklist.
The purpose of this learning module is to go through insulin pump management;
- How the insulin pumps works.
- Types of insulin pumps taught at RCH.
- Help support you in working out if the pump is right for you and your family.
Ensure you allow 1-1.5 hours to complete both the learning module.
There is a wait list for insulin pumps at the RCH and you must complete both modules (one and two) and provide us with the needed information discussed on this page before proceeding onto the RCH wait list.
We ask that both parents/carers as well at the child (if over the age 6 years) complete this module (for younger children just include them for some parts of the module e.g. looking at pictures and types of lines). This will help your child and family
make an informed decision about whether to start on an insulin pump.
If you are unable to complete this module online please contact us to arrange a face to face appointment, email diabetesadmin@rch.org.au.
Face to face pump information sessions are
only booked in twice per month, therefore this can extend your waiting period to start on an insulin pump.
If you have any questions about the pump process, call 9345 6661 or email diabetes@rch.org.au
