Pump information session

  • Hello,

The Diabetes Allied Health Team have received a referral from your diabetes specialist for a "pump information session" following your discussion about insulin pump therapy in your recent clinic appointment.

The below link for the Pump Information Session is the first step to preparing to start on an insulin pump at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH).

The purpose of this module is to go through insulin pump management, how insulin pumps work and help support you in working out if the pump is right for your child and your family.

Before starting the module keep in mind your progress cannot be saved part way through so the module needs to be completed in one sitting.

There is a wait list for insulin pumps at the RCH and you must complete this module and provide us with the needed information discussed in the learning packages before proceeding onto the RCH wait list.

We ask that both parents/carers and if the child is over the age 6 years then they should also be involved in either attending at least part of the information session or doing the online module. This is important for them to be able to make an informed decision about whether they want to start on an insulin pump.

At the end of the module, you create a PDF with all of your answers, this document then needs to be emailed to diabetes@rch.org.au to go onto the insulin pump wait list.

If you have any questions about the pump process, call 9345 6661 or email diabetes@rch.org.au

    Thank you,

    RCH Diabetes Team
