    @InfectiousInfo is our social channel, made for young people, by young people.

    From sleep tips to personal stories, fill your feed with helpful health info and connect with our online community.

    Overview

    @InfectiousInfo from The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) gives young people access to health information created specifically for them. Content on the channel is created with, by and for young people.

    If you are aged 14 to 25, you can voluntarily submit videos, memes, drawings, art and written stories to the channel. Email us at health.lit@rch.org.au to get involved.

    Moderation

    Content published on @InfectiousInfo is moderated by the RCH Health Literacy team.

    We do this to ensure our content contributors feel safe and reassured that the content they have submitted will be monitored and moderated once posted on the channel.

    The Royal Children’s Hospital will: 

    • Respond to all questions that followers ask in the most appropriate way.

    • Hide any comments sharing mis or disinformation.
    • Delete any comments that we deem as inappropriate and offensive, blocking and reporting users who post this content.

    • Direct followers to support services as needed. 

    • Reach out directly to the content creator if there is any feedback or commentary on their content which we feel they need to know about.

    Our priority is protecting the safety of our content creators and those using our content as a place to learn and express themselves

    Who can contribute  

    We welcome voluntary submissions from young people aged 14 to 25. The RCH Health Literacy team will send a call out for submissions via email once a month. 

    Recognition for contributions  

    Participation in @InfectiousInfo is completely voluntary.  

    Each month, young people who send in content that aligns with the brief, style guide and submission process will receive an agreed honorarium in the form of a Prezzee gift card to recognise their contribution. Not all content will be published.
    All contributors will receive a skills certificate at the end of the year, which outlines the role they played. Content creators are welcome to use their participation as an example of their skills when applying for jobs or volunteering opportunities.  

    Your voice matters 

    We are committed to ensuring @InfectiousInfo is inclusive and accessible. 

    As we further develop the channel, we invite and encourage young people to share their voice. You can create and contribute content, let us know what topics we should be posting about, and share ideas about how we can make our processes better.
