Caution must be taken with having live vaccinations (rotavirus, measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, BCG, yellow fever) while on immunosuppressing medications. Vaccination with live vaccines may be appropriate while on some immunosuppressing medications such as low dose methotrexate but should be avoided with stronger immunosuppressing treatments. Please contact your treating team or the immunisation service if you are unsure.
Children with rhematic diseases (including those on immunosuppression) are encouraged to have all other (non-live) routine vaccines, including the yearly influenza vaccine.
