The Royal Children’s Hospital is located in heart of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, home to more than 30 hospitals, research, teaching and biotechnology organisations.
Together the Precinct Partners have established a reputation as Australia’s and one of the world’s leading biomedical precincts.
Largely collocated to the north of Melbourne’s CBD in the area extending from East Melbourne, Carlton and North Melbourne to Parkville in the north, the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct has touched the lives of millions of Victorians.
The Precinct employs around 34,000 of the state’s brightest minds, including 10,000 researchers, and educates over 7,000 biomedical, health and medical students each year.
It consistently attracts the greatest share of Australia’s annual competitive biomedical research funding and produces academic publications with a citation rate more than twice the international average.
