Scholarship

  • The Elizabeth Fearon Scholarship is an annual endowment provided by The Royal Children's Hospital League of Former Trainees and Associates to support the integration of research processes into nursing practice at RCH to support improved outcomes for paediatric patients.

The scholarship is awarded in memory of Elizabeth Fearon who commenced her training at RCH in 1948 and was a ward sister in hospital at Pelham Street Carlton and was instrumental in the opening of the first Day Surgery Unit in 1977. Elizabeth was greatly respected not only for her kindness, but her wisdom and learning. This scholarship is given in her name as an appropriate memorial to her legacy.

The scholarship is available to current RCH nurses and advertised through the Nursing Research Team. Nursing Research : Scholarships and research funding
