Hoyts Beanbag Cinema
The Hoyts Beanbag Cinema is available, free of charge, for the enjoyment of our patients and their families. The cinema may be used by both inpatients and outpatients, their parents or carers and siblings.
The cinema screens mostly recent release films rated G or PG. Sessions currently run Monday - Friday. Every Thursday night at 7pm there is a Mums and Dads screening for parents of inpatients (older age). Please note that the cinema does not operate on public holidays or during the Christmas/New Year period.
Inpatients must have approval from a clinician on their ward in order to attend, and outpatients may only attend on the same day as their hospital appointment (proof of appointment may be requested).
Children aged 12 years and over may attend a screening unaccompanied by a parent or carer, however for hospital inpatients attending, an accompanying carer is preferred. All children aged under 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or carer throughout the screening.
Bookings are encouraged, especially during busier periods e.g. school holidays. Inpatients may book in person or by calling 9345 4660 in advance of the day of screening. Outpatients may only book in person on the day of their appointment - no telephone or advance bookings from outpatients will be accepted, and proof of appointment may be requested.
Information on what movies are screening can be located in the Family Hub, or in the patient lounge in each ward.
Please call or drop in to see the volunteers at the Family Hub if you would like more information about the cinema or wish to enquire about making a booking.
