We have developed online plain language course to help you write your participant-facing research materials. You can do the course at your own pace. It will take about two hours to complete.
The course is hosted by A-CTEC and is free for anyone in Australia. Simply create an A-CTEC account to get access.
Use the below templates if you need to get written consent for your project. The below PICFs are site-specific versions of the CT:IQ InFORMed templates. You should adapt them so they fit the needs of your project:
A full PICF may not be appropriate for your project, for example, if you are doing a survey or interview or focus group. In this case, you may want to give people a letter and get their verbal or implied consent. If so, you can use the below templates:
The Standard Wordings has sections of text you can use in your PICF or letter for verbal or implied consent.
If you are doing research at the RCH or MCRI, you should use the cover sheet with the appropriate branding on it. Where relevant, insert a secondary brand in the right-hand side of the footer. You should only use the cover sheet on the first page of your PICF.
