    Virtual Reality

Virtual reality’s immersive nature makes it a valuable tool for fostering empathy in healthcare education. By enabling participants to step into the patient’s perspective, VR helps clinicians and hospital staff better appreciate the challenges and emotions patients face.

The Education Hub recently conducted a study evaluating the effectiveness and feasibility of our VR Empathy program in a paediatric setting. The study found a significant increase in empathy scores and highlighted the value of VR as a resource and time-efficient training method.

The full findings are published in Focus on Health Professional Education and are available here: https://doi.org/10.11157/fohpe-vol26iss2id857.

Escape rooms in a hospital setting provide an engaging way to enhance teamwork, problem-solving, and stress relief among healthcare professionals. These immersive experiences encourage collaboration and effective communication. By combining entertainment with education, hospital-based escape rooms can improve both camaraderie and patient care.
