The Royal Children's Hospital has some limited emergency and family accommodation options onsite - this is referred to as ‘overnight accommodation’. The rooms are booked through overnight accommodation/ day medical unit. You can ask the nursing staff to put in a request for you. They are booked on a day-by-day basis and there is a fee of $70/night with a maximum of 2 nights stay unless there is a valid reason for extension. Rural and regional families from 100+km away may be eligible to have costs covered by the relevant State Government Scheme. 

Each accommodation room has two single beds plus a bathroom, with shower and toilet, and a telephone. 

The overnight accommodation area also has:

• Communal kitchen with fridge, toaster and microwave and vending machine
  
• Breakfast provisions, tea and coffee and milk
  
• Separate designated fridge for Expressed Breastmilk (EBM)
  
• Communal lounge and living area
  
• Outdoor courtyard
  
• Laundry facilities
