The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) diabetes team is dedicated to helping you and your family to manage diabetes care effectively so that your child/you can lead a fulfilling and healthy life.
These pages aim to provide guidelines for managing diabetes at home and to help you to become independent with everyday diabetes care including understanding how to make insulin dose adjustments, managing sick days and pump management.
If your child has an altered conscious state, unconsciousness, seizure or fitting, call an ambulance by dialing 000.
If your child has ketones of 3.0 mmol/L or higher, your child should be assessed by a doctor at your local emergency department.
