The Equipment Distribution Centre
(EDC), located at the Royal Children's Hospital, provides medical
equipment hire and sales for children in Melbourne, clients of the
hospital and also to the wider community. The EDC was
established within the Royal Children's Hospital in 1990 to meet
the equipment needs of children both in the short and long
term. The EDC provides a wide range of paediatric special
needs and medical equipment hire, such as wheelchairs, crutches,
breast pumps, car seats and port-a-cots. The EDC also sells a
range of dermatology, continence, and medical equipment and staff
will be happy to discuss our range of products with you over the
phone or in person. Please feel free to view our catalogue for the range of products
available.
EDC orders for sale
items can be placed online over the telephone, by fax or in person.
Products and equipment can be collected directly from the EDC, 48
hours after the order has been placed, posted or sent via
courier.
To hire medical
equipment please contact the EDC directly on 03 9345
5325. All equipment issued on a hire basis will
require a deposit (refundable on return of equipment) and a
hire fee, based on the time the item is required. We require
payment at the time of equipment collection, and clients will need
to complete a hire agreement prior to issue. In some
instances a therapist's recommendation may be required to ensure
safe and correct fitting. Please contact the EDC for
clarification.
The EDC is also a sub-agency for
Diabetes Australia and the Victorian Children's Ostomy
Association.
