Maurice has extensive education experience supported by a solid paediatric background and is the Director of Nursing Education.
Particular areas of interest include learning and understanding how adults learn, leadership, practice development and paediatric nursing practice and improving outcomes for children and families. He is always keen to engage in dialogue and discussion on any education related matters.
Marian provides a range of secretarial and administrative services to the MCPC. Responsibilities include administrative support for the Graduate Nurse Program, Unwell Child Workshop and Paediatric Foundation Program and personal assistant duties to Dr Sally Hardy. Providing a friendly and efficient service to our many customers, Marian is an integral part of our professional team.
Sally has a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing and has completed a Masters of Nursing Science. She has worked in a number of clinical and facilitation roles and has contributed in a variety of ways to research projects. In October 2007 Sally commenced as the Advancing and Building Change (ABC) Project Research Associate. The ABC project is a three year action based research project funded by the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. The aims of the project are to promote an effective workplace culture and to create clinical cultures that are able to embrace and sustain research activity. The ABC project is about working alongside practitioners using their knowledge and expertise to help identify what is working, what is not, and how to go about introducing change where change is needed.
Shirley has a background in Paediatric Nursing Education and has in recent years developed an interest in Practice Development. Shirley took up her current position at RCH in 2006 and completed a Masters of Nursing utilising Practice Development research methodology, in 2007. Shirley's role is to work in collaboration with the Director of Research and Practice Development to develop and implement an organisational wide strategic approach to practice development; to work towards building capacity, particularly in facilitation and leadership skills; and to promote, implement, research and evaluate practice development strategies, in order to create a culture of workplace effectiveness. This role involves developing and sustaining effective relationships with relevant stakeholders from all levels both within and outside nursing.

Rebecca has worked in a variety of clinical areas within the RCH over the past 6 years and is currently working towards a master’s degree in nursing. Rebecca is a Program Coordinator within the MCPC. Her responsibilities include coordination of the Preceptorship Education Program, Paediatric Foundation Program as well as the Recognition of the Unwell Child Workshop. In addition, Rebecca is the Graduate Nurse Support Coordinator, working in conjunction with the Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator to enable the learning and practice development of newly registered nurses within the organisation.
