All people with diabetes must dispose of their syringes, empty disposable pen devices, pen needles and finger lancing devices in an approved yellow sharps container with the biohazard emblem. 

• Most local councils provide a sharps disposal service. Please contact your local council for advice on their sharps disposal service 

• Woods pharmacy located on ground floor at RCH sell sharps containers. The RCH Equipment Distribution Centre (EDC, located level B2 via green lifts) have a sharps disposal service

• If you are going on school camp or a holiday, remember to take your sharps container; a smaller container might be a good idea. These might be available at your local council office, otherwise they can usually be purchased at pharmacies

• If an injection is required at school, please discuss where your equipment will be stored with the class coordinator
