24 hr urine preferred. Random urine is acceptable for neonates and paediatrics.

Must be delivered to the Core Lab within 2hr of collection.

LAB NOTES:

Random Urine:

-Acidify urine with 6M HCL, within 2hrs of  collection and allow to stand for 2 hrs prior to testing. See SR-W-012.

-Send an extra aliquot of urine to RCH/RWH Core lab Biochemistry for creatinine.
