Arterial/Venous blood (gas syringe 0.5mL) or Capillary blood (capillary acid/base tubes)

RCH: Can be performed on all blood gas analysers. Test must be performed immediately following collection. If a delay of up to 15 mins in testing is anticipated, place specimen on ice pillow. NOTE: Specimens to be tested in the Core Lab - If a delay of up to 15 mins in delivery is anticipated, keep specimen on ice pillow until specimen reaches the laboratory.

RWH Can be performed on both the blood gas anayser available on the 4th floor & the Core Laboratory.
