Kid’s COVID-19 Testing Clinic status

The RCH Respiratory Infection Clinic (RIC) is open daily from 8.30 am to 4.15 pm for children’s COVID -19 testing (note, the clinic may stop accepting patients earlier if it reaches capacity).

Please enter the hospital carpark via entry 4 and follow the signage. For more information about attending the RCH RIC please visit this page

If you are planning to attend the RCH for COVID-19 testing it is important to note that if your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and you have attended an exposure site (regardless of tier status) you must use drive-through testing where possible.

If you need to attend on foot and you have been to an exposure site, please notify our staff immediately on arrival.

To check if there is an alternate testing location closer to your home or outside of the RCH hours please visit the Victorian Government COVID website.

Please also check that your child meets the Department of Health's criteria for testing.

How busy is the Kid’s COVID-19 Testing Clinic right now?

COVID-19 testing is completed as safely and efficiently as possible. Unfortunately, there are times when the RIC is particularly busy and this can result in significant wait times.

While future wait times are unpredictable, you can view the current status of the RIC below.
