Biography for Dr Sarath Ranganathan

  • Dr Sarath Ranganathan graduated from the University of Sheffield medical school in 1990. His general paediatric training was undertaken in the United Kingdom. He undertook his fellowship in respiratory medicine at Great Ormond Street and the Royal Brompton Hospitals in London, UK and was awarded a PhD by the University of London in 2003 for research in the field of infant pulmonary physiology. He is a leading authority on the role of infant pulmonary function testing in young children with cystic fibrosis. Sarath was appointed as a consultant in respiratory paediatrics at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne in March 2004.
