GP Education

  • The GP education component of the Enhancing Medical Education Program focuses on delivering expert paediatric knowledge to meet the clinical needs of general practitioners in the community. The Department of Paediatrics is the Melbourne Children’s Campus provider of RACGP accredited GP education and we assist with the accreditation of paediatric related education across the Campus. We work collaboratively with hospital departments, the RCH Primary Care Liaison team and the Department of General Practice University of Melbourne to develop and enhance the quality and delivery of paediatric education to GPs.

We have partnered with the RCH Primary Care Liaison team to provide RACGP accredited paediatric related education for GPs, in both face to face and online formats. A number of RACGP accredited online resources designed specifically for GPs are available at Practical Paediatrics Program Online (PPPO), covering a range of topics relevant to GPs. For example, allergy, orthopaedic management, dermatology, communicating with adolescents and emergency medicine.

The inaugural Melbourne Children’s GP Paediatric Update 2018 is a face to face education day designed specifically for GPs. It will provide practical paediatric education on a range of issues at the forefront of paediatric health and wellbeing. These interactive sessions and workshops are facilitated by RCH experts in their field.
