Working group

  • The Disability Working Group (DWG) is responsible for progressing the Australian Network on Disability’s Victorian Employer Enablement Project (VEEP) and fulfilling RCH’s Disability Action Plan. With the support of the Australian Network on Disability, the following actions are being taken to improve RCH’s disability confidence and capability:

    • Review recruitment practices to remove any unintended barriers for people with disability;
    • Review and update RCH’s Disability and Reasonable Adjustment and Accommodation policy and procedure to ensure an equitable work environment;
    • Work with the department heads of Support Services, Specialist Clinics and the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program to identify roles with different skill levels that require recruitment and would be suitable for candidates with disability
    • Work with a disability employment service to identify strong candidates with disability to apply for role vacancies;
    • Run disability confidence training sessions for managers of people with disability.
