Creating memories

  • If a decision is reached to provide your baby with palliative care you will be offered the opportunity to create some special memories with your baby.

    These may include:

    • Taking photographs
    • Collecting hand and footprints
    • Plaster casting
    • Personalised keepsake jewellery

These things are all optional and can be tailored to your preferences.

We will also endeavour to respect any cultural or religious preferences you may have including arranging blessings, baptisms, christenings, naming ceremonies or intercessions.

Where possible, we can also help to arrange periods of visitation with people important to you and your baby.

If there is something you have in mind at this difficult time but it has not been offered please ask and we will do everything we can to make it happen; you can speak to your bedside nurse about this.
