Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS)

Wangaratta Social Report

  •         As the new CHIPPERS in Wangaratta, we were asked to go to Melbourne with another group of young people from the SMARTARTZ program.  The SMARTARTS guys had organised a trip to go and see a show called HUSH HUSH HUSH.  It was playing at the Victorian Arts Centre.  We thought it would be a great opportunity for us to go on our first ChIPS adventure since we finished our group.
Off we went, we jumped on the bus and headed off to Melbourne.  When we got there we were running really late and had to be dropped off at the door as the bus was parked, but we eventually made it to our seats.  We were not quite sure what to expect, but all of a sudden the music started and we all got really excited.
The performance was about multicultural difficulties, set to a fantastic dance and music set.  It had music in it by 2pac.  The whole experience of seeing the performance and the energy that the performers used was amazing.  You left the Arts Centre with a real buzz.
We have to say thank you to the SMARTARTZ crew for inviting us to this event.  We all had a fantastic time for our first ChIPS trip and we are looking forward to many more in the future.
