Allied Health and Nursing

Education Outreach Program

  • The Allied Health and Nursing Education Outreach Program offers tailored education and training to regional health sites based on their identified learning and professional development needs. Since its inception in 2017, the Program has delivered education to over 100 health sites and over 1200 participants covering the state of Victoria and Tasmania.  We also offer video-conferencing/webinars and currently have Allied Health webinars running on a monthly basis.

The expansion of the Program has seen new team members become a part of this exciting initiative, including Claire Bauer (Nurse Educator), Sarah Temby (Allied Health Educator) and Tania Ramos (Peri-operative Nurse Educator).

    Program objectives

The program uses blended learning approaches in delivering innovative and engaging education to develop participants' skills and knowledge in paediatric healthcare. Our program aims to:

    • Increase the confidence and competence of our Allied Health and Nursing Colleagues across the State.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive education programs specifically designed to target the education needs of nursing and allied health professionals across Victoria.
    • Offer inter-professional education for multidisciplinary teams that facilitate the development of communication, interpersonal, professional and leadership skills.
    • Improve paediatric patient care outcomes and ultimately reduce morbidity and mortality for children across Victoria.
