The Royal Children’s Hospital has changed to the new state-wide paediatric observation chart - ViCTOR (Victorian Children's Tool for Observation and Response) and implemented a new Medical Emergency Response procedure aligned to the new chart.
This follows the successful trial of the state-wide paediatric observation charts and escalation of care procedure on Koala and Sugar Glider wards.
The changes include:
An online education package "ViCTOR - RCH Escalation Procedure" is NOW AVAILABLE

Allied Health and Nursing Staff are encouraged to complete the package to compliment there other education of these new changes
In September 2014, 24 hours of all patients across the organisation (excluding trial wards & ED) were transferred onto the new age appropriate ViCTOR charts to see how many patients crossed the purple zone ....
