Note: Swabs within eSwab® collection kit may vary in colour

Prior to sample collection, please take note of the following:

• A natural sulphur like odour can be detected when first opening the eSwab® peel pouch. This is normal and completely harmless.

• Do not use the medium in the tube to pre moisten/pre wet the applicator stick prior to specimen collection.

• Do not use the medium to irrigate or rinse the sampling site.
  

  Instructions for use

1. Open the peel pouch.

2. Remove the swab.

   
   

    
   

3. Collect the patient sample.

4. Remove the screw cap from the tube.

5. Immediately insert the swab slowly into the tube.

6. Please ensure the liquid remains in the tube.

   NB: If the liquid spills, please use a new collection kit

7. Bend and break the swab shaft at the breakpoint (pink) line.

8. Discard the top of the swab shaft.

9. Replace the cap and secure tightly.

10. Label the specimen and pathology request form.
