MEDICAL NOTES
RHD NIPT is a molecular blood group genotyping assay for the detection of the fetal RHD gene (RHD) in the plasma of RhD negative pregnant women. It is used to predict the fetal RhD phenotype (RhD-positive or RhD-negative) blood group) to allow targeted, rather than universal, antenatal RhD-immunoprophylaxis. This test is currently only offered to Private patients who present with a Lifeblood NIPT for Fetal D request form signed by the requesting practitioner. Gestation must be 15 weeks or greater COLLECTION NOTES: Collect samples only on Mondays - Wednesdays (excluding Public Holidays). Do not collect on Thursday or Friday.
