Laboratory Notes:

Request on fecal sample which indicate any of the following should be sent to the WHO Polio Regional Reference Laboratory for polio surveillance:

ADEM, AFP (Acute Flaccid Paralysis), GBS (Guillain Barre Syndrome), Transverse Myelitis, Peripheral neuropathy.

Diagnostic tests for Polio virus should be sent to Molecular Microbiology for Enterovirus PCR (EVPC)
