Bone Marrow (BM) in preservative free Na Heparin (yellow top tube) or EDTA

or Peripheral Blood (PB) in Li Heparin tube only (No EDTA for Peripheral Blood MRD collections)

Minimum Volume

BM 1mL, PB 5mL

Volume depends on total WCC - liaise with Laboratory Staff on ext 55832 if difficulty collecting minimum volume

Preferred Volume

BM 2mL, PB 10mL

Comments

Laboratory Staff:

If sample arrives out of hours (Mon-Thurs), register the sample and store at 4C.

If sample arrives out of hours (Fri - Sun) or on a public holiday page the laboratory on 5832 (between 0800-1930).

If outside these hours store the sample at 4C and page/phone the following day.
