Lithium Heparin required and EDTA for an FBE.

Test MUST be set up within 48 hours of collection.

0.5 mL lithium heparin and 0.5mL EDTA for an FBE

Medical Staff: Please request FBE as it is required to quantitate subsets and must be collected at the same time.

Collection Staff: If blood is to be collected Fridays after 12 midday, please call laboratory ext 55725 before collecting specimen.

Specimen Reception/Laboratory: Do not spin. Keep at room temperature.

External Laboratories:
Please supply a copy of the FBE result.
Please ensure samples arrive at RCH within the sample validity time above.

Samples may be collected Sat 10am - Friday 12 midday (see note above for Friday pm specimens)
