Specimen Type: 1. Fresh hair received in pot; 2. Fresh hair received in envelope
Minimum Volume: Several strands with attached bulb
Preferred Volume: Small tuft of hair with attached bulbs
Comments: Pot Specimen: Often for Microbiology (MC&S) as well as Anatomical Pathology (microscopy). Send to Core Lab who will forward specimen to Microbiology with a share stamp designated to share with AP.
Envelope Specimen: Send to Core Lab where it will be accessioned and placed in AP basket.
Assay Performed: Anatomical Pathology; RCH; 9345 5748; Hours of Operation: Mon - Fri (excluding Public Holidays) 0600-1800hrs; After Hrs: Scientist and Pathologist on call; ––
