Specimen reception staff:

Specimen can be serum and/or CSF.

For serum sample freeze TWO aliquots and place in Immunology’s frozen samples box in the CSR freezer.

Immunology Staff:

Store frozen aliquots in immunology send away box. When sending, forward one frozen aliquot to Specimen Reception Sendaway staff.

Specimen Reception Sendaway staff:

CSF sample to be frozen once other CSF testing has been completed.

Samples to be dispatched monthly to the referral laboratory. Send frozen aliquots with an ice pack via ambient overseas freight (ice pack and specimen can thaw in transit).
