Test Code: SAEVER
Specimen Type: EDTA - whole blood.
Samples must be received by RCH Specimen Reception by 10:00am weekdays and 9:00am weekends and public holidays.
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL
Comments: Nursing and Medical staff are asked not to call the Alfred Hospital directly. Please contact Biochemistry on ext 56278 for result if unavailable in the EMR

Lab NOTE:
Freeze WHOLE blood and transport frozen.

Sample must reach referal lab by 1:00pm (Monday-Friday), the courier pickup time is 11:00am. Sample must reach referal lab by 11:00am (Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays), the courier pickup time is 10:00am.
Urgent samples may require an extra courier to be book.

Send to testing laboratory on dry ice. Do not pack dry ice in a sealed container. Use appropriate PPE.

ADD ON TESTS: For an add on EVEROLIMUS, the EDTA specimen can be frozen and sent frozen for testing up to 7 days post collection.
