Testing will only be performed after discussion with Clinical Microbiologist.

Only samples from aseptic sites should be tested.  The presence of more than one type of organism will either result in an unassessabe sequence or only the predominant organism being sequenced.

Colonies may be forwarded from the bacteriology Laboratory.  Fungal cultures older than 24 hours must be placed at 4 deg c until tested.  Colonies older than 72 hours should not be tested
