Testing will only be performed after discussion with Clinical Microbiologist.

Only samples from aspetic sites should be tested.  The presence  of more than one type of organism will either result in and unassesable sequence or only the predominant organism being sequenced.

Colonies on non selective agar plates (or one colony in 200ul PBS) may be forwarded from the bacteriology Laboratory.  Bacterial cultures older than 24 hours must be placed at 4 deg C until tested.  Colonies older than 72 hours should not be tested.
