Test comprises of sFlt-1 and PLGF
Collection Notes:
Send specimen to laboratory on ice pillow ASAP using a red URGENT specimen bag.
If other tests are requested with the pre-eclampsia ratio test (e.g. EUC, LFT), these must be collected into a seperate specimen tube
All external requests MUST be centrifuged, serum separated and frozen (within 2 hours of collection). Specimen should be transported to RCH on dry ice.
Routine analysis will be performed Monday to Friday within business hours. For out of hours or urgent clinical testing, the requesting clinician MUST contact the laboratory via phone 9345 6278 to arrange authorisation from the Chemical Pathologist.
Laboratory Notes
Perform routine testing Monday to Friday within "business hours". Process all specimens received up to the 8pm courier delivery. After hours, the scientist must coordinate test request authorisation from the Chemical Pathologist PRIOR to testing.
All samples MUST be registered on a separate laboratory number.
Centrifuge and forward to Complex Biochemistry.
All samples that are NOT being tested immediately MUST be centrifuged, serum aliquoted and stored frozen.
