About the Victorian Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (PETS)

The Victorian Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (PETS) transfers critically ill children from hospitals throughout Victoria, Tasmania, and southern New South Wales to the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne.

PETS makes the resources of paediatric intensive care available to severely ill children throughout Victoria and offers them safe, expert inter-hospital transfer to a specialist paediatric intensive care unit.

PETS also provides telephone advice to doctors, nurses, and ambulance staff on the resuscitation of critically ill children.
