Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination – Guidance for RCH workers, contractors, and students

  • In line with the Victorian Chief Health Officer’s Directions, contractors who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are unable to work at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) or on behalf of the RCH at another location, including in an RCH patient home.

    Requirements:

    Pandemic COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Specified Facilities) Order 2022 (No. 2) (the Order) has mandated third doses or ‘boosters’ for workers at healthcare facilities, including contractors and students.  This means that after 12 January 2022 all workers must have received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine unless:

    1. They received their second dose:
      1. on or before 12 September 2021, and have provided evidence that they have booked an appointment to receive their third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 12 February 2022; or
      2. after 12 September 2021, and have provided evidence that they have booked an appointment to receive their third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 29 March 2022; and
      3. unless:
      4. they have a medical exception; or
      5. any of the other circumstances set out in the Mandatory Vaccination Order No. 2 apply;

    Where a worker has not received their third dose but has proof of a COVID-19 vaccination booking by 29 March 2022, they may continue to work if they are wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes a surgical mask and face shield.

    For contractors working onsite PPE can be collected from the Main Street screening area.

    Providing evidence of vaccination:

    The Sine Pro app will be used to collect evidence of vaccination from all RCH workers, contractors, and students.  Upload your digital COVID-19 Certificate from your MyGov account to Sine Workflows.

    If you have not yet had the third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine but have an appointment for third dose you will need to upload evidence of that appointment to Sine Workflows.

    Please upload this information before visiting the RCH. If you work on the RCH site once you have provided all evidence and that evidence is approved, the Sine Pro app will recognise your vaccination status and will not ask you again.

    All workers, contractors, and students entering the RCH site must continue to check-in using the Sine Pro app (choosing the appropriate sign in workflow) and complete the full attestation each time they attend the RCH. The Sine Pro app will recognise you at check in and ask you to upload the vaccination evidence.

    If you do not upload the relevant evidence, you will notbe able to work at the RCH or on behalf of the RCH at another location, including in an RCH patient home until you do.

    Thank you in advance for your cooperation, complying with these measures is an important part of the strategy to minimise the impact of COVID-19 and keep our patients, visitors, and staff safe and well.
