How to become a volunteer

  • The RCH Volunteer Program

    All volunteers recruited as RCH Volunteers must:

    • Be aged 18 years or over
    • Be able to commit to a minimum of 3.5 hours per week
    • Be able to commit to volunteering for at least 12 months
    • Have no criminal history of violence, drug offences, sex offences or crimes against children, and must be willing to obtain a Police Check and Working With Children Check when requested to do so
    • Be able to contribute skills and experience gained from previous work or volunteer experience, and be able to provide referees to attest to this
    • Be fully vaccinated against COVID19 (3 doses) and Flu Vaccination (annually) - and be willing to provide evidence when requested

      If you meet all of the above criteria you will be able to apply to volunteer as part of the RCH Volunteer Program.

    Department Volunteers

    The RCH Volunteer Service does not recruit department specific volunteers.  If you wish to know if a specific department takes on volunteers you will need to contact them directly. 

    Consumer Representative Volunteer

     A Consumer Representative Volunteer is a committee member who bring views based on their lived experience of a condition or care or their knowledge of a particular population group. These volunteers are members who sit on specific committees and advocate for continuous improvement on behalf of a particular population group.
