Ward Grandparent Program - Staff Information
The Ward Grandparent Program aims to support children whose health requires long or frequent periods in hospital and whose parents are unable to stay with their child as often as they would like. A Ward Grandparent can provide a child with stimulation and a consistent, caring relationship during periods when their parents are unable to be present.
As a member of staff at the Royal Children's Hospital you may be in the best position to identify when a child would benefit from being linked with a Ward Grandparent and to discuss the program with the family.
If you are working with a child and their family whom you think are suitable for a referral to the Ward Grandparent Program please speak to the Ward Social Worker or Ward Grandparent Program Coordinator on 9345 6111.
