Partnerships - RCHI

Working in partnerships

RCHI works through strategic partnerships with hospitals in developing countries. The projects are negotiated and agreed to by the two hospitals. A signed memorandum of understanding defines the responsibilities of the two hospitals and sets out the planned collaborative activities.

Priority is given to projects that:

  • Will benefit the greatest number of children and young people
  • Can be completed with the resources available
  • Do not duplicate other projects already being undertaken in the host country
  • Have an educational or public health focus
  • Emphasise human resource development to promote sustainability

RCHI projects involve staff from many sectors of the hospital community - doctors, nurses, educators, engineers, scientists, information technology experts, administrators, psychologists and social workers.
