Working in partnerships

RCHI works through strategic partnerships with hospitals in developing countries. The projects are negotiated and agreed to by the two hospitals. A signed memorandum of understanding defines the responsibilities of the two hospitals and sets out the planned collaborative activities.

Priority is given to projects that:

Will benefit the greatest number of children and young people
Can be completed with the resources available
Do not duplicate other projects already being undertaken in the host country
Have an educational or public health focus
Emphasise human resource development to promote sustainability

RCHI projects involve staff from many sectors of the hospital community - doctors, nurses, educators, engineers, scientists, information technology experts, administrators, psychologists and social workers.
