Clinical Lookup and Results Acknowledgment (CLARA) is a web-based software application, allowing staff to view and acknowledge patient pathology and imaging results.

    Clinicians can view :

    • Patient demographic, admission, emergency department, and outpatient appointment details.
    • Test results for pathology as well as ultrasound and radiology text reports.
    • Retrospective patient information is available from the following dates:
    • Demographics 1960
    • Admissions/Discharges, Pathology and Imaging July 1997
    • Outpatients July 1999
    • Waiting Lists future only

Medical staff can acknowledge that a test result has been seen.

    Access to CLARA

Please visit the Information Technology forms page for system access forms.

Controlled Access: Employees of RCH can request to control who has access to their information. The electronic information on the clinical viewer will be secured to prevent access by users other than those specifically authorised by the staff member. When the staff members attends as a patient for care, access will be granted to a selected group of users.

When the staff member ceases to be employed by RCH, the record will have controlled access removed unless otherwise arranged.

Note: When searching for Controlled Records, the search function will display no record found. Searching to obtain a UR number will need to be through the IBA patient master index (PMI) system to obtain the UR number.

HIS staff will only retrieve these records for patient care. The record will be made available to clinicians if the patient attends for care.
