A major objective of the Auxiliaries is to obtain additional financial support for the Royal Children’s Hospital. There are a number of ways you can help to achieve this including the following.
Create your own auxiliary
Starting your own Auxiliary is easy and fun. It’s also a great way to make new friends!
Taking on the role of an Auxiliary requires a sound level of commitment and dedication. Auxiliaries make an enormous contribution through their fundraising efforts so that the hospital’s Wish List, including equipment, research projects, and educational programs can come to fruition.
If you would like to make a difference to the lives of our young patients by starting up your own Auxiliary, you will need to:-
- Contact the Auxiliaries Office to arrange a time to meet with Susan Manson, Auxiliaries Co-ordinator. At the meeting you will meet the staff of the Auxiliaries Office, discuss the establishment of your Auxiliary, and have all your questions answered.
- Read and sign the Constitution. The Constitution outlines the objectives of the Auxiliary and basic conduct of operation. This is a legal document providing protection for Auxiliaries as authorised fundraising groups of the Royal Children’s Hospital. This association allows Auxiliaries to be covered by hospital insurance policies, and by general government registrations of charities within Victoria. The Constitution should be reviewed every five years.
- Be made aware of the policies and procedures. You will be provided with a copy of the Royal Children’s Hospital Guidelines for an Auxiliary Handbook.
