Annual Report

It is now seven years since the “Wrapped In Love” project started at the Royal Children’s Hospital. In 2003 Victorian Quilters Inc. became an auxiliary.

In that, time we have delivered nearly one thousand quilts to the long term patients in the hospital and because of generous donations by many quilters, craft groups, and schools we continue to deliver approximately 50 quilts per month.

We visit children in the Oncology, neurology, cardiac, and cystic fibrosis wards.

At the Australasian Quilt Convention in February this year, Victorian Quilters Inc. held a quilt challenge with the theme “These are a few of my favourite things”. Many wonderful children’s quilts were entered and then donated to the children at the hospital.

It is great to see the children snuggle up with their quilts and the colour on their beds brightens up the wards. It has also been wonderful to receive such positive feedback from the children, parents and staff on the wards.
