Annual Report

The past year has been very busy for us. We have had days at the hospital on the merchandise stall and our variety stall, we have also made 21 visits to major shopping centres over the last year – the stalls lasting from one day to seven days straight.Our musical afternoon at Ella Latham Theatre was enjoyable – this also included a raffle. Smiley Aux We participated in a wrapping of corporate packs for Myer, and also at Brandon Park shopping centre where the management donated the paper and ribbons for wrapping of the Christmas gifts for the public. On Good Friday we ran our stall at Telstra Dome with merchandise and Easter goodies – a hectic day!

We are delighted to welcome four new members – Maureen, June, Andrew and Gary. The boys capably managed our stall at the garden show. The Luv-a-Bub products and the new designs in aprons and tote bags have been popular with the customers. We have six lovely ladies who keep the knitting needles running hot, and who don’t want recognition for their work, but certainly deserve it – Heather, Joan, Sandra, Joy, June and Margaret. Thank you all. At the time of writing this report our President, Joan, is in hospital awaiting a triple bypass operation – we trust she will have a speedy recovery so we can continue our fundraising efforts together.

Smiley's will be selling RCH Merchandise in the following areas;

6th April - Royal Flower and Garden Show, Exhibition Buildings

7th-13th April - Knox City Shopping Centre, outside Pulse Pharmacy

9th-10th May, Brandon Park, near Telstra Shop

19th-25th May, Eastland, near King of Knives

2nd-8th June, Chadstone, in the loop

22nd-23rd August, Forest Hill, outside Big W

8th-14th September, Eastland, near King of Knives

October, Chadstone - date to be advised

17th-23rd November, Knox City, outside Pulse Pharmacy

December, Forest Hill - date to be advised

We are delighted to provide to Professor Dinah Reddihough and the Department of Child Development and Rehabilitation to be used for:

Saliva Control Program / eating and speech difficulties
Part time dental nurse
Nurse to assist children with Prader Willi syndrome.
