Waverley is a very friendly Auxiliary. Meetings and functions are always well supported with members not only enjoying the many activities but also the company of other members. A regular newsletter keeps members informed as to the latest happenings.
New members are always welcome! Why not come to one of our meetings and see for yourself that not only is membership of the Waverley Auxilary good for the sick children of Victoria, but also good for you too. So, call Sue Manson, Auxiliaries Co-ordinator 9345 6491 for contact details for the Waverley Auxiliary. It will be one of the most satisfying and rewarding decisions you can every make!
2007 was once again a very busy but an exciting year, as we celebrated our 40th Birthday with a luncheon at the Mulgrave Country club. Our formal meetings started in February at the Alvie Hall when some of our long serving members reminisced about the early days of the Waverley Auxiliary.
We have enjoyed a diverse group of very interesting and informative speakers during the year. Congratulations to Elizabeth Wilson, Kath Walker and Doris Tatman on receiving Living Treasure Awards, and to Beryl Reeves on receiving a Caroline Chisholm Award. Our Auxiliary continues to work hard with 47 members, and attendance at meetings approximately 26 members.

We introduced a wide range of fundraising activities during 2007, including “Gown of the Year”, Film Luncheons, Games Day, Stalls at shopping centres, The Stringybark Festival, Fair of Excellence, Dolls House Raffle, and our spring fashion parade, which once again was an outstanding success. A number of our members and friends provide many valuable hours helping in the Auxiliary Gift Shop.
The various stalls in the hospital are yet another way to boost our fundraising efforts. We thank Social Club Books and Sharon Slechton Jewellery for their ongoing support. Once again we are most appreciative of the provision of Alvie Hall for our meetings by the City of
We were able to assist Dinah’s Wish List with $13,000 for the Parent Child Mother Goose Programme, plus $10,000 toward the cost of printing the Cerebral Palsy Information Booklet, and a further $10,000 to Solve@RCH.
A special thank you to my hard working Committee Vice President Margery Schreppel, Secretary Beryl Reeves, Treasurer Zelma Sinden and the social committee; Audrey Stewart, Beth Trebilcock, Joan Edwards, Doris Tatman and Brenda Uptow. The Waverley Auxiliary is fully committed to continue to support the Department of Developmental Medicine.
