The viva Royal Children’s Hospital (vRCH) Young Members' FUNdraising group have celebrated their 5th Birthday on Good Friday this year. The team are a group of young professionals who are dedicated to donating their time, energy and expertise to support and extend the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Auxiliaries' volunteer network and the hospital's pain management programs.

From varied professional fields and diverse backgrounds, the members bring their combined experience together with a common goal of creating awareness of pain management and improving the quality of life of children living with pain from serious injury and long-term illness. The majority of vRCH’s FUNdraising activities' focus on connecting young people through events that help to promote the Royal Children’s Hospital and its pain management programs.

For five years the vRCH team has been hosting prestigious functions for its members and guests each year during some of Melbourne’s most renowned events: Crown Oaks' Days at Flemington during the Spring Racing Carnival; International Polo events; and Good Friday Appeal events.   This year's Good Friday Appeal event being postponed to the 25 May to celebrate 5 years of FUNdraising and to support the Cystic Fibrosis pain management program.

The vRCH team is delighted to report that all three events this year have resulted in more young members, and Oaks Day resulted in increased funds raised. In addition, this year the vRCH team have formed an alliance with 5th Avenue an events business who will generously donate 50% of their profits from two major events for up to 1500 guests in Summer and Winter annually.

Zayt women's clothing has commenced a fundraising for the RCH Auxiliaries by giving a percentage of their sales for certain ranges. They plan to hold a fashion show where guests make a donation to the vRCH to attend. Dr LeWinn's skincare has generously been selling items for a donation in addition to selling the bags at their warehouse sale. They also hope to hold a sale in the foyer of the hospital later this year.

It has been an extra special year for vRCH as they have supported new pain management programs that have helped doctors, nurses, patients and their families. In addition to forming the alliance with Harry the Hirer and gaining discounts for all auxiliaries, the vRCH team now have a wine supplier in Heyman Liquor Group's Wine Liquidation Centre.

The vRCH team continue to 'Have FUN whilst FUNdraising' and look forward to raising even more for pain management programs.
