There are only seven members in this Auxiliary. They raise funds through weekly card nights, tupperware evenings and leather goods parties. They also raise funds through the Annual Fashion parade held during the Wunta Festival, and last year organised a bus trip to the Oaks. South Western Auxiliary also hold numerous stalls throughout the year at Fairs and Shows selling RCH Auxiliary Merchandise which is always a big hit!
2007 was a busy year last year. 2008 was shaping up to be more of the same, considering it is our Auxiliaries' 55th year working to make sick kids better.
We also welcome three new members to our Auxiliary _ Pat Robinson, Janine Sheen, Carmel McKenzie and Judy Conn has been inducted as a Living Treasure in October 2008.
Once again, the Good Friday Appeal was pretty good to us. This year, we branched out intocommunities like Hawkesdale and Woolsthorpe and they have supported the Appeal with great vigour. Including tin-shaking on a set of lights in Warrnambool, we raised $7,132.60. Although it didn't quite beat last year's record total, it came pretty close.
The regional shows we attended were quite successful too. In all, we attended the Warrnambool, Koroit, Port Fairy and Noorat shows, raising awareness for our Auxiliary and selling $3,132.80 worth of merchandise.A very good result considering the average attendance was down due to Equine Influenza.
Our markets went off quite successfully with the Warrnambool markets selling about $2,233 worth of merchandise and the All Saints Church market in Terang selling about $885 worth of merchandise there so far.
Other events in the pipeline are a Trivia Night, Bunnings sausage sizzle, more Tupperware parties and movie nights.
