The Diabetic Camp Story

This is a group that raises funds for children newly diagnosed with diabetes. They arrange a camp every year for these children so that they can learn how to manage their disease, and regulate their intake of food and exercise under medical supervision, away from their parents.

Annual Report

The Royal Children’s Hospital Diabetes Camp Auxiliary is a group committed to raise funds to supplement activities for children with Type 1 Diabetes that attend annual camps.  Some of the activities that children can experience for the first time are surfing, circus skills, orienteering etc.

Children that attend these camps come from all over Victoria and they provide a great experience for them to experience life with other children who share common problems and concerns about diabetes and they also learn about dealing with their disease on an everyday basis.

Money for this auxiliary is raised through Paddy's market and stalls held in the hospital foyer.
