Research activities

Aim:

To foster, encourage and promote clinical research in the Physiotherapy Department which will translate into relevant evidence based practice in the tertiary setting of the Royal Children’s Hospital. Thus providing improved physiotherapy intervention and management for the children and families who come under the care of the Physiotherapy Department.

Links & Partnerships:

Physiotherapy research is conducted within the Royal Children’s Hospital and has links to the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and The School of Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne.  Due to the diversity of the workload within the Physiotherapy Department, research can be directed under a number of the Research Themes in the MCRI.  The Physiotherapy Department can be associated with the following MCRI Research Themes - Critical Care and Neurosciences, Healthy Development and Musculoskeletal Disorders.
