Making a referral

Please fax through your referral to (03) 9345 5034 or the appropriate fax number listed for the required clinic.

Urgent referral? 

Please mark 'URGENT' clearly on the referral and/or call the number listed for the required clinic.

Clinic triaging:

• Some clinics have significant waiting times for non-urgent referrals.
• Triage staff may reassign your referral to a clinic with a shorter waiting time where appropriate.  Call the RCH OPD office on (03) 9345 6180 if you need to discuss this.
• Please see Pre-referral guidelines and provide as much detail as possible on the presenting complaint, pre-referral management, outcomes, investigations and results.
• Please provide as much clinical information as possible to ensure the correct clinic is allocated.
• Please include social and special circumstances, where relevant, as this may influence the urgency of the referral.

Please call the RCH switchboard on (03) 9345 5522 and ask for the relevant on-call registrar or consultant.

 If your enquiry is not urgent, consider referring to the contact section of the relevant department, for alternatives such as email or fax.
